Age Range: all ages 

Parking: 
Weekdays: some street parking off of Randolph Ave just across from the playground
Weekends: large
 parking lot at Captain Michael Vandenbos Public School on Country Lane beside park

Ground Cover: cement

Main Equipment:

Accessibility Features: wheelchair accessible

Facilities/Surrounding Park Area/Other:

Seating: 2 park benches facing the splash pad

Shade: no shade over the splash pad, but shade is available in the surrounding trees


Overall assessment: With a lot of trees, paths, and open field space, it is easy to make this splash pad and adjacent playground a picnic spot for a day trip!

Walbridge Park Splash Pad

Parking: 
Weekdays: very limited street parking during school hours
Weekends: plenty of parking at the Newcastle Public School lot

Accessibility Features: wheelchair accessible

Facilities/Surrounding Park Area/Other:

Seating: 3 park benches beside splash pad

Shade: shade structure over one park bench  facing  the splash pad, surrounding trees have some shade but no shade directly over the splash pad


Overall assessment: A good sized splash pad next to a playground! Good for a day trip so pack a lunch!

Overall assessment: A good sized splash pad next to an amazing playground! Good for a day trip so pack a lunch!

Overall assessment: A great little splash pad right next to a playground and large field. Pack a snack and eat at the nearby picnic table!

Shade: shade pavilion and a gazebo in the centre of the park


Overall assessment: Park of a very large park with a lot of space to run! It is a great splash pad but the playgrounds are a fair walk from the water area.

Exeter Park wading pool

For 2019 the wading pool will be closed for renovations.

Parking: no parking off of King street (fire-hydrant zone) parking is around the West side of Exeter Rd. (which is an unpaved walk across the grassy field to get to the playground)

Accessibility Features: none (there is a lip around the entire pool with no sloped entry access points)

Overall assessment: A great little wading pool to beat the summer heat! Adjacent playground and park space make this park a perfect mini day trip.

Palmer Park Splash Pad - Port Perry

Parking: large parking lot off of Water Street

Facilities/Surrounding Park Area/Other:

Seating: 1 park bench facing the waterfront in front of the splash pad 

Shade: surrounding trees and a gazebo in the center of the park


Overall assessment: A great splash pad with a breeze off the waterfront! Adjacent playground and park space, along with local favorite The Perfect Scoop across the street, make this park a perfect day trip location.

Orono Park Splash Pad

Parking:  parking lot off of Princess Street and Leigh Street

Ground Cover: concrete

Surrounding Park Area: some small green fields around the park, a bridge with a small stream and a lot of great picnic space

Seating: multiple picnic tables (including one wheelchair friendly area) and multiple park benches

Shade: plenty of shade over the playground structure from the surrounding trees and shade throughout the park and over the picnic areas as well

Overall assessment: Plan on spending a few hours at this park and pack a picnic! With the playground, Skatepark, outdoor public swimming pool (for a fee $) and great trail surrounding the park there is plenty to do and see. A great park to visit while on a Clarington country drive. Post by Valerie

Amberlea Splash Pad

Parking: large parking lot off of Rosebank Rd, some street parking off of Braeburn Cres

Ground Cover: cement

Main Equipment: 
  • 2 spinable spray posts
  • 1 rotating spray snail
  • 1  small spray post
  • waterfall and stream
  • multiple in ground water jets
  • 1 button activation post
Accessibility Features: wheelchair accessible 

Facilities/Surrounding Park Area/Other:

  • seasonal washrooms (not beside the splash pad but a good walk away)

Seating: 2 park benches at the playground, plenty of boulders around the splash pad to sit on

Shade: no shade over the splash pad itself but some surrounding tree shade around the park and over both benches (late in the morning and early afternoon)

Overall assessment: This is a splash pad with a lot of interactive features that kids will love. The snail shell spins, the tall cattail can be spun, and the reed has spinning water features too! Not to mention the really neat waterfall and stream feature to splash about in at the bottom of the splash pad.

To the far right is the parking lot. Follow the path to the playground and splash pad behind the trees behind the ball diamond. It is a 5-10 min walk for toddlers.

Lake Vista Park Splash Pad

Parking: Two parking lots located off Emerald Ave and oxford Street (bus stop on oxford W side of park)

Seating: 5 park benches

Shade: 'Shade Shack'


Overall assessment: The splash pad here is great for kids to run through and cool off after playing all day. It is nice to be near to the Clubhouse as well.
