Ground Cover: mulch, with artificial paths throughout

Main Equipment:
  • 6 swings
  • 4 infant swings
  • 5 slides
  • 1 teeter rocker
  • 1 rope web
  • 1 play wooden train
  • 1 hanging slider

Accessibility Features: ramp onto playground, wheelchair height music station, periscope station, vehicle station, tic-tac-toe, talking tubes

Facilities/Other:
  • picnic table area
  • concession stand (open daily from 11am)
  • Oshawa community museum (open daily from 11am to 4pm; small fees apply)
  • public washrooms
  • soccer fields
  • baseball fields
  • Splash Pad

Surrounding Park Area: a beautiful waterfront trail as well as plenty of fields and greenspace surround this park (note: for soccer and baseball you will have to cross the street from the main building and playground area)

Seating: 4 benches in the centre of the playground (no backs on these benches), and picnic tables east of the playground

Shade: none on the playground itself, but plenty in the surrounding park area

Overall assessment: This is a fantastic park for all inclusive play for kids of all ages!  There is a small splash pad (more like a cooling post) so if you are going to this park expect the wee tykes to want to get a bit wet if they're hot.  There are plenty of areas for imaginative play here from the boat structure to the fort structure, to the stationary train.

This park was chosen as one of Canada's 150 coolest playgrounds!

Many people have mentioned sightings and reporting on frugal/buy sell sites that frequent events of attempting to abduct children are happening at this park. Please be aware of any such behaviour and it is strongly recommended if possible of having more the one adult watch kids brought as well as prep your kids on what to do if this happeneds.
