Overall assessment: A small playground with the right amount of running space between play structures and swings. This definitely was the right place to stop on the way home from camping after having ice cream at the local Cows right across the street from the park. We absolutely love the old school climbing structures like the elephant that they have here as they give so much flexibility for kids to climb, hang, and just be creative in outdoor play.

Shade: no shade over the playground, some shade in the surrounding trees, and a shade pavilion over the picnic tables

Overall assessment: Wow! This is a great park for climbing, between the huge rope pyramid or curvy rock climbing wall! Even though it is geared towards bigger kids, with a small slide, some rockers and the amazing short infant swings we first saw in Whitby, it makes for a great toddler park too! These shorter infant swings limit how high they can swing and are great for first timers.

Wow this neighbourhood has three tot lots all within walking distance of this great playground! It's a great central park area for the community. If you live in the area, take a walk to check your mail and take the kids to the park for a bit. If you don't live in the area, come on over for a park hopping tour and park at one park but walk to three more!

Parking: street parking on Liatris Drive

Overall assessment: Another great small neighborhood tot lot with a single climbing structure and toddler slides. The rock 'n cross teeter totter is a great arm workout for parents when smaller kids are riding it and can't trigger the movement on their own!

Age Range:
 18 months and up

Parking: limited street parking off Sunbird Trail (watch the no Parking zone signs on the street)

Ground Cover:  mulch

Main Equipment:
  • 5 slides (1 is a triple racing slide)
  • 1 swing
  • 1 infant swing
  • 2 spinners
  • 1 toddler rock climbing wall
  • 1 toddler rope climbing wall
  • 1 rock 'n cross teeter totter monkey bars (how to use it video!)

Accessibility Features:  none

Facilities/Other:
  • none

Surrounding Park Area: just the playground

Seating: 2 park bench structures facing the playground

Shade: no shade over the playground or in the surrounding area (trees are a bit smaller still)

Overall assessment: We loved the rock 'n cross once someone else showed us how to use it! We have come across these before on road trips to other parks, but it seemed like it is meant for older kids, however, with a little help younger kids can ride it too. This is a great neighborhood tot lot with a lot of variety to learn climbing skills. We will definitely make our way to this park again!
