Area: Pickering Waterfront

Year Installed: 2003

Age Range: 2 to 12 years

Parking:  small lot at the very South end of Liverpool where it dead ends at the bridge to enter the waterfront walkway (*if you want to park in this lot you should arrive by 10:00am on weekends or you will end up street parking before the shops on Liverpool Rd)

Ground Cover: sand

Main Equipment:
  • 4 swings
  • 4 infant swings
  • 6 slides
  • 1 tunnel slide
  • 1 suspension 'bridge'

Accessibility Features: full ramp access and wheelchair friendly bridge (on larger play structure only)

Facilities/Other:
  • Splash Pad
  • washrooms open from 9am to 9pm (seasonal)
  • nearby shops and restaurants on Liverpool Rd in Frenchman's Bay (including multiple ice cream options!!)
  • 2 beach volleyball courts

Surrounding Park Area: A beautiful waterfront boardwalk leading to the waterfront trail system

Seating: many picnic tables and benches on either side of the boardwalk but not that many park benches at the playground itself (*if you want to get a seat or picnic table you should arrive by 10:00am on weekends)

Shade: some over the playground from the built in sun sails, picnic areas further up along the boardwalk and on the beach have plenty of shade

Overall assessment: A great inclusive playground for all ages and abilities.  There are a lot of different places to climb and walk up to between both play structures.  They are attached to each other with a wheelchair friendly bridge and walking suspension 'bridge'.  The sun sails provide the perfect amount of shade coverage for the playground after a day at the beach!

i have always loved the playground ever since i was a kid. there was never any playground in my house, but there was an empty land where me and my friends usually go to play football and other kind of stuff. building a playground for your kids would really help you because your kids would not have to goo out much. This content is no doubt very engaging.
