Area: Pickering Central
Installed: 2007
Rides Allowed: BMX, bikes, skateboards and rollerbladers
Main Park Features:
Facilities/Other:
Shade: none on the skatepark, but some provided in the surrounding trees
Surrounding Area: a nice path through the park and plenty of trees in the surrounding field (great for tag, hide and seek, or a scavenger hunt)
Summary: This is the only skatepark in Pickering, but it is a very good one. It is also one of the few sanctioned graffiti friendly zones in Durham Region, which makes it very fun to photograph :) It's right next to the Diana Princess of Wales tot playground and corresponding soccer fields so gives the older kids something to do when the family heads to this park. The bonus is that it is lit at night and open until 10:30pm! Helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are recommended. This is an unsupervised skatepark.
