Summary: A community project that involved local skateboarders helped the revitalization project come to life for this community skatepark. It's a great size for beginners too. The best part is there is a picnic table, benches, a washroom, and basketball court right beside it so you can spend the entire afternoon here! 

Area: South Whitby

Summary: A great cement skate park in Whitby that is home to not only grafitti, but a tree that has become the place where many broken skateboards are laid to rest. Park Rules: Come dressed with the proper safety equipment. Do not use the surface if wet or icy. This is an unsupervised skate park.

Area: West Ajax

Parking: plenty of parking in the lot for McLean Community Centre off of Magill Drive

Summary: A great skate park in central Ajax with plenty of metal to grind.  Small bowl offers the perfect opportunity to learn before gearing up for the larger Audley Recreation Centre park.  Park rules note no smoking, alcohol or glass in the area.  Helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are required.  This is an unsupervised skate park.

Area: Pickering Central

Summary: This is the only skatepark in Pickering, but it is a very good one. It is also one of the few sanctioned graffiti friendly zones in Durham Region, which makes it very fun to photograph :) It's right next to the Diana Princess of Wales tot playground and corresponding soccer fields so gives the older kids something to do when the family heads to this park.  The bonus is that it is lit at night and open until 10:30pm!  Helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are recommended.  This is an unsupervised skatepark.

Area: Whitby North
