Have you had the pleasure of visiting a hobby farm? It is a great hands on experience, especially for kids. It gets everyone outdoors and gives us the chance to learn about farm to table a lot more closely than visiting a commercial local farmer.
Eloise loved visiting our friend's farm. Nothing beats finding your first fresh egg in a hen house. She was so excited that they hid it three more times just to find it again! The larger horses frightened her a bit, but she loved the miniature ponies and the donkey (which she rode with some help).
Thanks to our friends Krista and Matt for hosting us at their farm! We had a lot of fun and loved seeing all of the animals. My favourite were the bacon seeds (aka pigs).
