Free Parks Canada Discovery Pass 2017

What is the 2017 Parks Canada Discovery Pass?
  1. grants your family or group (in the same vehicle) FREE entry to any National Parks in Canada
  2. gives you FREE access to any National Historic sites operated by Parks Canada
  3. gives you FREE access to any National Marine Conservation areas operated by Parks Canada

Are there any local Durham Region areas I can use it?
Yes there is! But there are plenty of places in Ontario in general to use your pass. I have put together a handy list with links of all of the local areas that this pass will give you FREE access to during 2017.

  • Rouge National Urban Park (the first National Urban Park in Canada)
Ontario FREE access areas;
  • Laurier House (Ottawa)
  • Rideau Canal (Ottawa)
  • Fort Wellington (Prescott)
  • Thousand Islands National Park
  • Bellevue House (Kingston)
  • Fort Henry & Fortifications (Kingston)
  • Trent-Severn Waterway (Peterborough)
  • Bethune Memorial House (Gravenhurst)
  • Georgian Bay Islands National Park (they even have a bus from Toronto! 2017 schedule TBD)
  • Beausoleil Island (in Georgian Bay Islands National Park)
  • Fort George (Niagara-on-the-Lake)
  • Queenston Heights (Niagara-on-the-Lake)
  • HMCS Haida (Hamilton)
  • Woodside (Kitchener)
  • Point Pelee National Park
  • Fort Malden (Amherstburg)
  • Bruce Penninsula National Park (they even have a bus from Toronto! 2017 schedule TBD)
  • Fathom Five National Marine Park (Tobermory)
  • Fort  St. Joseph (Richards Landing)
  • Sault Ste. Marie Canal
  • Pukaskwa National Park (Heron Bay)

There are a total of 148 different National Historical Sites, National Marine Convservations, and National Parks to visit across Canada with your FREE 2017 Parks Canada Discovery Pass. For more information you'll have to take a look at the Parks Canada website!

There are over 800 National Historical Sites operating across Canada, although most of them are operated privately or by provincial and municipal government organisations (which are not part of the 2017 Parks Canada Discovery Pass FREE entry program).
